On My Own Terms
Consistency Starts With You

Getting to know yourself—really know yourself—is the foundation of consistency. When you understand what motivates and inspires you, showing up for yourself stops being a chore and starts becoming a commitment.
Here’s my truth: I don’t enjoy sitting at a computer for hours. Online marketing often feels foreign to me. This digital world can feel disconnected and impersonal. The lack of face-to-face interaction, the anonymity, and the constant stream of inhumanity online? It gives me the heebie-jeebies.
Working in person, building relationships—that comes naturally. I’ve had the privilege of engaging with people from all walks of life, learning lessons no textbook could ever teach. Guiding people in connecting with their bodies has deepened my connection to my own. Wellness work has been the most fulfilling path I’ve walked. To contribute authentically and with purpose—that’s my definition of success.
And yet… I’ve struggled with consistency. Not because I don’t care. The intentions have always been there. But action? That’s where I’ve faltered. I’ve spent time reading books, listening to podcasts, consuming endless information—looking for the spark. But the truth is, nothing builds the muscle like doing the thing. Repetition. Showing up.
Before I could be consistent in anything else, I had to be consistent with myself. My self-care had to come first—not as a luxury, but as a necessity. Staying grounded in my humanity, not letting my work define my worth, is what keeps me well. Without that, burnout and depression wait in the wings.
My morning ritual now includes quiet time with spirit, intentional movement, and words that nourish my soul. These simple, intentional acts keep me connected to who I am. They form the foundation for everything else I want to build.
So here’s what I’ve learned: Consistency begins with the promises we keep to ourselves.
